2005 Men’s Sabre World Championship Finals

This is a good video of high level sabre fencing.  This fencing match features Romania’s Mihai Covaliu and Russia’s Stanislav Pozdniakov.  The two have an ongoing rivalry with Pozdniakov being a very sound tactician and fairly conservative in his game.  He is the “Ice” to Covaliu’s “Fire”. 

Covaliu relies more on his speed and some flashy moves.  See if you can see is jumping parry-riposte during the bout.
